IFF: Brooke Gladstone at the Englert Theatre

Sunday, September 24, 2017 -
2:00pm to 3:00pm

The Iowa City Public Library is excited to host Brooke Gladstone, co-host of WNYC's On The Media as part of the 2017 Carol Spaziani Intellectual Freedom Festival. She will be in conversation with Lyle Muller, executive director-editor of IowaWatch.

Brooke Gladstone is best known for the …pause… that Bob Garfield inserts before mentioning her name in the credits for On the Media. Among her other accomplishments, Brooke was an NPR Moscow-based reporter, its first media reporter, senior editor of NPR’s All Things Considered, and the senior editor of Weekend Edition with Scott Simon. Her newest book, released this May, "The Trouble with Reality" is a brief work targeted at those unsettled by President Trump's attack on facts.

Staff from Prairie Lights Books will have copies available for purchase at the Englert before and after the event, and Ms. Gladstone will sign copies after the event until 3:45pm.

This event is free and open to the public, and doors will open at 1:30. Seating is first come-first served.
