Hill, UI Associate Professor of English and African American Studies, will discuss the creation of the 2016 book "Invisible Hawkeyes: African Americans at the University of Iowa During the Long Civil Rights Era." What was it like to be black and a student at Iowa during the 1930s - 1960s?

This event is cosponsored by the League of Women Voters of Johnson County as part of their 2017 Sunday Speaker Series and by the Iowa City Public Library as part of the 2017 Black History Month series.
